Summer habits reboot checklist

You may or may not hear many people talk about this... but I've encountered it with enough clients to recognize that it's a real thing:

The weird summer slump that shows itself mid-July.

You might find yourself feeling a little more meh than you normally do — especially when it comes to sticking with your usual workouts, food choices, or daily habits.

So here’s a vital reminder:

When you experience energy dips, it's OK for your habits to lighten up, as well.

I can say from both personal and second-hand client experience that plowing your way through hard seasons when you're not feeling 100% doesn’t build consistency… it actually likely fosters feelings of resistance.

If you've been feeling like it's harder stick with habits lately, here are a couple recommendations...let's call it a summer habits reboot checklist:

Swap out workouts. Too hot for your normal outdoor exercises? Replace high-intensity outdoor workouts with earlier morning walks, shorter resistance circuits, or even light yoga/stretching.

Hydration is KING. Dehydration can be tied to brain fog, fatigue, headaches, & mood swings — not to mention increased cravings. Try adding electrolytes and/or fresh fruits to your water if plain water isn’t cutting it to get all your ounces voluntarily.

Lighten up your meals. Your body may be craving lighter, less filling, water-rich foods during summer months. Salads, smoothies, wraps, grilled veggies, and fresh fruits are easy to digest and can feel a lot better than heavy meals when it’s hot outside.

Cut yourself a break. Just keep showing up for yourself… even if it’s just for a few minutes. But do it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. The key is stiull consistency, even if the load is lighter.

You’ve got this. 💪 And if you'd like some help, this is the perfect time for 'Core Habits Jumpstart' - a 6 week 1-1 coaching program to zero in on individualized habits AND the ways you can continue/develop/enrich/modify those habits to fit your busy life and family dynamic!
