Looking at the bigger picture

Updated: Dec 20, 2024

Are there any progress markers you track every day?

If you do, you might be having one of two experiences:

A) You’re keeping up with healthy habits and feeling good about the progress you’re making

OR

B) You have occasional "slips" and you’re feeling like you have to “start over” from time to time, including the most famous one this time of year: January first.

If you lean more toward the latter, I want to help you alleviate some of the pressure.

Over the years, I've noticed some of my clients crush daily tracking and it keeps them focused and motivated.

But for others, especially during busy times like the holidays, daily tracking can feel like every day that isn't perfect should be considered a setback.

With that approach, it’s easy to slip into an all-or-nothing mindset.

In fact, it can feel like one less-than-perfect day means you’ve fallen completely off track.

My suggestion?

Give yourself a “weekly budget” or a “weekly plan” for your goals instead of daily.

That might look like:

●     Focusing on hitting your step goal averages over the course of the week instead of being so strict day by day

●     Planning workouts in ahead of time and striving for a certain number of them per week

●     Shoot for a weekly calorie deficit instead of stressing over each bite day by day

Consider tracking progress weekly instead of daily

Put some thought into it and do what you think will work for you. You can always try it out and tweak the details as you learn what works.

This way, instead of adding stress to your daily routine, you’re looking at the bigger picture.

In Goal Getters 2025, we'll follow a proven system that helps you establish habits (and your WHYs for each), and sustain those habits as a more effective way to reach any goal.

It’s designed to fit your lifestyle, pace, and what you’ll actually ENJOY doing.

In just 30 days you’ll start to:

●     Build consistent habits that fit into your busy life and set the foundation for long-term success.

●     Feel more focused and in control of your daily routines, making progress toward your personal goals.

●     Gain confidence and momentum as you see real, achievable results from the changes you’re making

…and that’s just the start because the support will continue monthly, all year long!

Either way, remember to give yourself some space—you’re making progress, one week at a time.
