Clearer thinking starts in the body

Have you ever walked from room to room, thrying to remmeber what you went in there for?

Or read the same page in a book 3 times and still not remember what you just read?

Maybe you just feel distracted, fuzzy—or just not fully present, even if you're trying?

This might not be “in your head” at all.

It could actaully be "in your body."

Dr. Mark Hyman calls this the “broken brain” phenomenon—and it’s a lot more common than you think. Here's what this actually means: Your brain doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

It’s connected to everything else going on in your system. Your gut, mitochondria, hormones, nutrient levels, even your sleep and stress levels.

And if any of those are off track… your brain is effected, sometimes in big ways.

If your thought processes seem foggy or you're having major issues being able to focus, it could be your body’s way of trying to get your attention. It needs help!

These are just a few common causes:

●     Unregulated blood sugar levels

●     Nutrient deficiencies (especially magnesium, omega-3s, B vitamins, vitamin D)

●     Environmental toxins (mold, heavy metals)

●     Chronic stress or poor sleep (which literally shrinks the memory center of your brain over time) that can often go hand-in-hand

There's good news: Your brain can come back from these states!

But you can’t just “fix” everything by pushing through, forcing yourself to focus, or pouring more caffeine on the problem. I that last part is really tempting...

But you really can only fix these issues by getting curious about what's going on with your body, and by fully supporting those systems that support your brain health and function.

Here are some simple details to pay more attention to:

  • Start your day with protein + healthy fat (instead of sugary choices or NO breakfast)

  • Get outside for some morning sun, even jst 10 minutes to boost dopamine and regulate your circadian rhythm

  • Move that body regularly—even a short walk improves circulation, which can boost brain power

  • Eat more magnesium-rich foods (leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate!)

  • Cut out ultra-processed foods that interferes with your mood and your mind function

Bottom line: Clearer thinking starts in the body.

When your body feels supported, your brain will feel the same.

So if you’ve been feeling mentally scattered, slow to react, or have an overall foggy disposition, it doesn’t mean something’s “wrong” with YOU, it just measn your body could use an assist in helping your brain function better.

Feel like you’ve been doing everything right but your body still isn’t responding the way you want?
